Judy Heston

Her grandparents raised Judy in Mansfield until she was nine years old. She is grateful for the stable home and love they gave her. They were godly people and took her to church. After their deaths, she went to live with her parents who were not Christians, and raised her in an atmosphere of smoking, fighting, cussing and bitterness. A neighbor took Judy to church and she accepted the Lord when she was 15.
Judy always had a burden for her parents to receive Christ and she wanted desperately to be loved. She did her best to be well behaved and helpful so that she would be a witness to her parents and earn their love. One of the punishments that she received when she was “bad” was that she was not allowed to go to church. She prayed for her parents for many years before they were saved. Later they told her it was her good behavior that convinced them that God was real. Judy states that when her parents were saved, they quit smoking cold turkey and she never heard them cuss again. She eventually became close to them and took care of her mother when she was dying.
Judy was married for 15 years and has two daughters and two granddaughters. She survived a husband who was very physically and mentally abusive to her and the girls. She eventually divorced and raised the girls as a single parent. She prays for her children and grandchildren that they will live godly lives. She rests in knowing that God’s word says that if a child is trained up in the way they should go that when they are old they will not depart from that way.
Judy was in an auto accident in 2000. She was mostly immobile for 2½ years and had a risky operation, but God was with her. She has regained much of her mobility. Judy remarks that she lives in a house with steps and is grateful to God that she is able to climb them.
Judy enjoyed memorizing scripture when she was a child and participating in Bible bees. Her favorite verses are John 3:16, Psalm 3:1-8 and Romans 8:28.
Judy has been without steady work for over a year and recently began a new job in Ashland. She would appreciate your prayers for this transition in her life. She would like you to know that God never fails, even though she has failed Him at times. God has truly been her refuge and strength.
"They will be My people, and I will be their God." Jeremiah 24:7. Clear Fork Alliance Church is the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Bellville, Ohio. Our vision is to be a 24/7 church: one that is defined by our people rather than our building, and be known for our loving relationships rather than the time which we meet.
